Welcome
to The News-Tribune. We are the only weekly newspaper
in Defiance County, serving many of the communities in northwest
Ohio.
My name is Mary Ann Pepple-Barth.
I began working at the Tribune in 1974 for my father,
Merle Pepple, and have been editor/publisher since purchasing
it from him in 1990. My sons Michael Gregory ("Greg")
and Jonathan David ("Jon") work with me as well, making
us a third generation newspaper/printing company.
We take great pride in being
a three-generation family-owned and operated business, starting
with my father as editor/publisher in 1970.
Growing up in a small town
in Indiana, I learned very early in my life how important it
is to stay focused and to serve your community as best you can.
The lifeline of every small community is the newspaper. It becomes
the heart of the community and it is my pleasure to serve the
Village of Hicksville in this capacity, now and in the future.
The News-Tribune focuses on
news in Hicksville and surrounding towns such as Antwerp, Sherwood
and Farmer, making it a favorite of former area residents who
want to keep up with the happenings in their hometown. The subscription
area of The Tribune's weekly circulation also covers nearby towns
of Bryan, Defiance, Mark Center, Edgerton, and Antwerp
Tribune Printing, Inc., publisher
of The News-Tribune, offers full-service printing for Hicksville
and the surrounding areas. Business cards, stationery, envelopes,
flyers, yard signs, wedding and graduation invitations, thank
you cards, and many other business and personal printing needs
can be met without leaving Hicksville.
